I hold a BA in English literature, an MA in Communication, and an MA in Couple and Family Therapy. I do a little bit of a lot of things. When not working on my PhD, I can be found hiking, reading, or relaxing with friends and family.
My upbringing in suburbia was so uneventful it would have been too boring for a 1950s TV show. The predictability and safety of everyday life were surpassed only by my desire to grow up so I could fall in love properly. At 25, I married her high school sweetheart, moved to Denver, and pursued a conventional happily ever after.
Until my husband asked if he could date a mutual friend. I found out that letting my husband date made him a better husband and me a better wife. I learned to date, no easy fete for a married thirty-something. And I learned that I didn’t have to live by the childhood rules of predictability and safety. Now I get to fall in love repeatedly.
